Day 1, June 19, 2017 - Reno, NV to Wells, NV
On the road by 10:30 am. Hot in Reno and at the rest stop east of Winnemucca it was 93 degrees. BTW, there is a waste dump there with water. Free. Have so far gone through 4 counties: Washoe, Stores, Churchill and now Lander. You can make good time while the road is straight and the speed limit is 70, 75 and now 80 in some places.
Although Montana is more commonly known as "Big Sky" country, my Nevada must be a close second.
We camped in Wells at the Welcome Station RV Park. Art is the proprietor and he is from Wisconsin originally. The fellow must spend all day watering his beautiful lawn. There is a raging creek running through the park and all of the camp spots are on grassy sites. Nice place and because we belong to Passport America, we camped at half price: $15 per night. Full hookups!
Tomorrow, onto Utah!
