IRS obligations and Restocking Day - 2-21-18
We departed our quiet, free and spacious campsite this morning after a nice breakfast and daybreak. Our objectives were to get some civilized work done so we headed for the UPS store in Buckeye, AZ. There we were able to take care of 1) sending all of our tax information off to our accountant (which included making 44 copies); 2) signing some documents for our investment folks (yes they needed them faxed and not electronic signatures; 3) sending payment for my awesome new painting (see below); and 4) sending Mom's birthday gift and card off to her. All of this was accomplished in a matter of 25 minutes thanks to a very efficient man named Tyler at the store. Just amazing.
Afterwards we had lunch and motivated ourselves over to a Safeway where we stocked up on stuff. In case you think you have one of those special discount cards at Safeway that works all across America -- guess again. Every state has a different Safeway card (I guess they are different franchises?) . Just give it up and ask them to give you a new card. One more piece of plastic. Pain in the you know what. Saves you $21 though.
Next we went to Camping World and purchased a backup water pump for the trailer -- the thing has been making noise like it is sick and we don't want to be caught without water to flush the toilet. This is the second replacement we have had to purchase for this rig -- something we NEVER had a problem with in the Arctic Fox -- but then again. It is NOT an Arctic Fox.
From there we were on to our new campsite at Lake Pleasant, AZ. Turned out that this was a nice surprise. We were able to get 2 sites, right next door to each other. No electricity, no water, but nice level sites for $20 apiece per night. We are right across the road from the bathrooms and the garbage!!
Pat and I took a nice little hour hike with the puppies before we broke out the wine glasses. Super beautiful, as you can see here.
Dinner was great. Barbeque chicken thighs al a Russ!
Tomorrow we go visit friends for lunch in Scottsdale.
A good day altogether.

My new piece of art -- acrylic on canvas by Patrick Cutting. Waiting for me when I get home to Reno. See, you don't even have to go to a store to purchase art anymore. So excited!
Look at this sky filled with popcorn clouds. Along our hike this afternoon.
Pat, Shelby and Tulla with a big ass Saguaro Cactus on the trail.
A good day altogether.
