March 11, 2019 -- Desert Flowers Bloom!
We spent most of the day just waiting around to move on. It dawned beautiful and sunny
-- should have known, we are currently sitting in the rain in Quartzite (our destination for the day) and do expect it to continue for today and tomorrow. Oh well. Tiny cell service -- another lot of nothing out here -- not even a theater for 50 miles.
Before we left the BLM at Topoc, AZ, I took the dog for a walk and we were treated to these beautiful wild flowers and lots of green grass. I really love the desert. It shows itself in so many different ways.
Down here in Quartzite, about 100 miles from the Mexican border, we begin to see barrel cactus and cardon (or saguaro?) cactus. Also a bit of ocotillo. I will take pictures as soon as the place clears up.
We are here for 2 days and then onto Yuma to visit with Bob and Suzie, our "old" caravan friends.
