Canadians, now I get it! 3/6/18
Not much happening today. We made a final shopping ($265) trip before setting off for Mexico tomorrow morning. We were picking up important things like wine that we can't get down there. Or maybe we can but we are so used to our own stuff and a little timid about trying theirs. This entry to Baja, CS MX will be different for us since we will be entering with our trailer through Mexicali. I have made this crossing before, many times, but only in an automobile. Since we have a trailer (remolque), we need to go to the new border and it is not the new border that concerns me, it is navigating through Mexicali on our way to San Felipe. It has been a long time since I did that and I am not sure if google knows (or is willing to share) the way. Let you know tomorrow. Fingers crossed.
I had this incredible revelation today and it was about Canadians. There are many of them down here. People my age. Retirees. I was wondering why they would come spend so much time in the USA since they seem to have it all up there. We hear that they have excellent medical coverage, cheap drugs, great social programs, little or no political drama -- what do they want with us? Duh Kappy. Here is the answer:
There is nowhere in Canada to go in the winter if you want to be warm. So there, we got that on them!! They are dependent on us, if they want to drive somewhere and spend the winter months in a place where you can wear short sleeved shirts and shorts.
Wow, took me 70 years to figure that one out. Welcome my Canadian friends!!
Here is a picture of the sunset tonight -- kind of non-dramatic but it is what it is!
