Good bye Tucson, Hello Tonto National Forest. 3/1/18

After coffee and breakfast, we broke camp in Tucson and said good bye once again to our friends the Rowes.
Kappy, Jan, Russ and Craig

We hit the road and headed north to the Tonto National Forest.  Again, we were seeking a place to stay that was away from it all.  We used our Allstays App on my phone and found a nice spot at  USDA campground for $6 a night (that is 1/2 price because of our senior card).  This is first come, first serve.  Never seen anything like it.  We pull up to the gate and there is a machine like the parking guardian in Truckee.  Insert credit card, put in a number for the nights, if you have a senior card it asks (honor system but you have to display it on your dashboard along with your paid ticket)  it spits out a receipt (again like the parking tickets in Truckee) and it charges it all to your account.  There is a camp host here.  His name is Nick and he LOVES to talk.  His dog (a Chesapeake Bay Retriever) Jezebel sort of run the place.

Pretty empty here on a Thursday evening.

Tomorrow I want to go to the Tonto National Monument.  Nick says there are cliff dwellings there.

Have a nice night everyone.  I am planning on it.
