In the Navy -- Golf Course that is. 3/22 & 23 - 2018

Yes, we are here.  Admiral Baker Recreational Facility in San Diego, CA.  Amazing but this place is a great spot in the heart of San Diego where Military rates are $40 a night (full hookups) and if you know about it, the civilian rates are $47 per night.  Not full, lots of green grass. Great showers and laundry ($1 per wash and $1 per dry).

We arrived Thursday night and this morning (Friday) I took a run up the hill where I have in the past.  Up the hill is a golf course which is named after an Admiral Baker -- don't know him.  When I got to the top, near the club house, I was approached by a "course marshal" on a golf cart.  I slowed down and took my earphone out and he said:  "This is a military installation, you can't be here."  I apologized and said "well, I was staying at the military trailer park down below" -- he said, "doesn't matter, can't be here."  So, I said, "well okay, I won't do it again." He seemed real concerned for my safety saying:  "be careful" several times.  Also he said: "don't go on the cart paths."  Well duh, I know that is a no no anywhere -- although it is a fantasy of mine.

This is me who doesn't give a rat's you know what about what the "Course Marshal" said.

So I get down the hill and I'm feeling kind of sheepish until I see the sign:  "Open to the Public."  I'm thinking to myself, "well I should just go back up there and talk to that guy."  I didn't.  Too much work.  Don't care what he says, I'm doing that run again on Sunday!!

After that rain on my parade this morning, Russ and I set out to visit our good friend Enee who is living in a Senior Assisted living home in Imperial Beach.  It was so good to see her.  We took her out to lunch and a walk on the beach.  Such a beautiful place California is.  Enee mentioned that this place used to be owned by Mexico.  They shouldn't have let it go so cheap.

Enee, Ceilidh and Russell at the Beach!

Art on the wall at the Pizza Place we had lunch.  Love it!

Tomorrow we are going to take the doggie and go for a hike.  Fill you in then.

Nitey Nite.  You all be good tonight.  Love you!
