The Shower 3/5/18 Yuma, AZ

So this comes under the heading -- better hurry up before you forget it.

I just came back from the shower in this RV park.  I haven't had a shower in a few days so I am happy to "spread out" in the park's shower.  The first problem is finding a place to put the stuff you will need in the shower.  There is a little tiny 3" soap holder, and that is it! So the rest of it is relegated to the floor.  Long ways away, especially for someone who had to take off her glasses.

Next,  try shaving your legs in a 3' x 3' shower stall.  There is no way to keep the shaving cream or in my case, the shower gel on your legs long enough to shave them.  There is no where you can go in that little stall to get away from the overhead water pouring down.  The next problem is staying upright!  Frankly, at the ripe old age of 70, I defy anyone to maintain their balance while trying not to touch the shower wall or curtain that probably has someone else's cooties on them.  While attempting this procedure I had visions of me falling over and being discovered by the next woman to enter the bathroom, unconscious, naked and bleeding from my head which had slammed into the tiled curb.

Amazed that I survived the actual shower but now I have to step out into the adjacent 3' x 3' Ante-chamber and maneuver putting on my clothing, again without dragging my pants on the cootified floor.  Remember,  I am 70 years old and even when I was younger  I was never never have described myself as that much of a contortionist.  Just trying imagining me bringing my left leg up into the air, high enough to insert it into the pant leg without allowing the bottom of said pant leg to drag upon the floor.  Impossible!!

Sorry, no pictures.

I digress.  Now back to the business of the day.  We left the Picture Rocks campground north of Gila Bend this morning after a nice run for me and a nice trot for Russ and Ceilidh.  We arrived in Yuma at the Blue Sky RV Park and found our way to spot 120.  Full hookups -- $36 per night.

We were treated to an awesome dinner by our friends Bob and Susie at Lin's, a really huge and great  Chinese Buffet.  First just a couple glasses of vino at the park and this selfie!!

These are great old friends of ours from our early caravaning days.  They never age, say the same about us!!

Oh, forgot to tell you, I visited the laundromat today too.  Pretty much looks the same as the last one, right?

Tomorrow, shopping for 2 weeks in Baja -- need to get plenty of vino.

Nitey Nite.

  1. So funny and TRUE! Plus, the dressing area is usually damp at best and you don't want to drag your pants through that. All that fun, then the freezing walk back to your toasty trailer. Still, feels good to be clean. Maybe we should wear our robes and dress in our trailers.
Enjoy each day (you do) my dear friend!
