August 11-13 This will cover it all. Days 51, 52 and 53

Friday I was reunited with my high school girlfriends in Northport, MI at the home of Pat Eichenlaub.  She and her husband Mark were most gracious to put us up in their 100 year old home.  Pat, Janet, Maureen and I carried on like we were teenagers -- never missing a beat.  Frankly, we are all still the same personalities -- just multiplied by 1000.  Should have seen it coming.  In any event, I won't try to catch you up with the particulars.  We listened to music, shopped, ate, rode bikes and just generally had a nice time.  The weather cooperated and it was clear and the sky was blue.

We went to dinner on Saturday night at a restaurant called:  Knot Just a Bar -- cute huh? -- even included the boys -- Mark and Russ.  Afterwards we were treated to a really nice sunset and a tour of the local lakeside parks.

After a campfire at Pat's house we took off to find the dark so we could see Perseid meteor shower.  Saw one really BIG one.  We all saw it so we decided to call it a day (or night as it truly was), and returned home.

This morning Russ picked me and the bikes up and we traveled onto Petoskey State Park on Lake Michigan.  Forgot what the deal was about Petoskey stones.  I went swimming (kind of rough but I did get all wet) and searched for some of the stones - alas to no avail.  They are elusive little devils, can't tell if they are one until you get them wet.  Here's a link so you can see what I am talking about.

Hurrying to finish this before my computer and/or my hotspot gives out.

The Girls at the Harbor

Oh, did I mention there was a dog parade?

Sunday morning bike ride along the shores of Lake Michigan

Tonight we are heading out to see Jill and Fitzi who live in Petoskey during the summer.  We will meet them at the Petoskey Brewery.  Let you know what I think.

Tomorrow we go to the UP (upper peninsula) and a trip of 98 miles will most likely take us 4.5 hours.  I have never been there but look forward to seeing the stuff I missed when my family visited back when I was in college.

Nitey nite all.😊
